College Scholarship Competition
Warwick, NY (WHS) – The Warwick Historical Society is once again offering a $500 college scholarship to graduating seniors. Interested applicants should submit an essay, not to exceed 2,000 word in length on the following topic:
Select a Warwick person, past or present, who embodies the spirit of the community. In the essay explain how this person might inspire you to carry the best of the community to your college and professional life. Some suggestions: Lydia Sayer Hasbrouck, Clinton Wisner, Seymour Gordon, Michael Newhard, Beverly Braxton, David Brandt, Jamie Leonard, Leo Kaytes, Leonard DeBuck or a citizen of your choice.
Essays are due to the historical Society by May 15 at 5:00pm.
Founded in 1906, the Warwick Historical Society’s mission has been to preserve and celebrate the vibrant history of the Town of Warwick and its people, and engage our communities through a variety of programs aimed at developing an understanding and appreciation of our unique historic heritage.
